I dropped a few new pots in the webshop just now. This will be the last regular update for a while, as I am entering a busy period, moving house and helping my twins settle into their gap year activities. The shop has finally been restocked.

In the two months since my last update, I have made liberal use of my artistic license; The urge to create is compelling and sometimes overwhelming. One can get lost in wrong-footed departures. Thankfully some ideas are just fleeting follies, while others slowly spread their roots and resurface from time to time. In this update, there are classic bestsellers like nuka and tenmoku teapots, as well as new (and re-hashed) whimsical work. SOLD – Coarse porcelaneous iron clay kyusu, “wood-worm eaten” handle and iron glaze, 125ml – 145 euro

(This one-of-a kind pot merits a detailed description: very high iron coarsely grogged porcelain-clay mix. The iron has bled through the yellow iron glaze, resulting in the leopard spotted look. On the spout, an iron spot has completely melted away, leaving a round hole at the edge of the spout, this has no adverse effect on the pour which is strong and non-turbulent. The lid and body of the pot were fired separately to avoid them fusing together, the lid and body has been ground together post-firing for perfect fit. Glazed inside. Heat retension is high).
