Nuka teapot,210ml, coarsely grogged dirty porcelain

Description

Made in a mixture of iron clay and porcelain, this teapot was glazed inside out in (reconstituted) Nuka, à traditional Japanese glaze which gains it’s bluish hue from the reduction of iron in the (in this case) gas kiln.

It is hard to describe the effect over this clay, dramatic says something. You feel a sense of movement. The glaze is crazed and speckled with iron which comes from the fluxed clay.
