Description
This gaiwan was made thinly on the potter’s wheel in porcelain. It was glazed as an experiment in a “new” glaze, and in retrospect should have been fired in a less oxidised part of the kiln. Oh well, onwards and upwards, it is selling here as a second.
The lid to body fit is perfect, so is handling. The colour of the lid and cup differs slightly, the lid being more yellow-tinted. The lid was fired apart, obviously, and hence from its position took to the kiln atmosphere differently from the cup.
