Description
This teapot was made in porcelain and iron clay, so-called dirty porcelain, and decorated on the lid with porcelain slip. This was then further decorated with a decal (a kind of pottery tattoo, of cherry blossoms) and glazed in transparent glaze. Inside the pot was glazed in a neutral glaze to close the clay pores. Outside, the whole pot was then sprayed with oak ash.
Post firing, a handle was formed from round cane. Voilà !
