Description
This iron stoneware teapot was fired unglazed in oxidation (electric kiln) to make it suitable for shou pu er and liubao. The clay is a mix of stoneware clays but predominantly Wallonian (it speaks Belgian French, that is! ).
The porosity is around 3-4%. The deal here is that the airpockets in the clay will filter the taste of the tea, therefore not recommended for green and more delicate teas, but better for aged and oxidised teas. The colour of the clay will darken with use.
Some patience is required before the clay is well seasoned.
