Dear Friends!
It has been more than half a year since my last shop update. In the meantime, I have been busy moving house, setting up the new studio, and making seemingly endless adjustments to the firing shed… It has been quite a journey. I have seen my share of mishaps and have learned a lot, perhaps most succintly why potters name kilns after the places they live. Though I have the same two kilns as always (gas and electric), simply moving them to a new location made a big difference in terms of firing results. Out of the city basement, I am now working in the daylight in my garden studio, and perhaps that influences the work, too. So, endless learning ahead, and that’s fine with me – to some extent, that’s even the point.
